Sustainability

Sustainability and social responsibility are both super important to us. It's something we've been praised for and we're constantly reviewing what we can do to ensure we're doing the very best we can. Here's a few things we're already doing to ensure our business has minimal waste and minimal environmental impact.

Being a Carbon Positive Workforce

We're proud to work with Ecologi to reduce our carbon footprint and ensure we're a carbon positive workforce! This means that all of the carbon emissions our employees emit are offset by us (via Ecologi) by planting trees across the world and funding climate projects worldwide. You can see our progress on our online Ecologi profile, here.

Our Packaging

We try and keep our packaging as low waste as possible, this includes not sending a paper invoice. (If at any point you'd like a digital invoice sent across, we'd be happy to email one across - just contact us at hello@roccoandthefox.com). We're proud that our packaging is largely recyclable, compostable and sustainably sourced by UK suppliers:

  • Paper mailer bags: Environmentally friendly composition and 100% recyclable
  • Eco mailer bags: Sustainably sourced, carbon neutral, fully recyclable and made from sugar cane
  • Mailer boxes: Fully recyclable, sourced from UK suppliers
  • Stickers, cards and tags: Fully recyclable and made from recycled materials

Appropriately-Sized Inventory

Millions of pounds worth of unsold clothing is sent to landfill every year, or even burnt. We want to avoid contributing to landfill with boxes full of unsold stock with nowhere to go. As such, we will only ever order smaller, appropriately-sized amounts so that we're responsibly meeting demand. Some items won't be replenished and will only be released once, meaning once they're gone they're gone. Other items will be replenished frequently with small restocks based upon demand. This ensures we avoid a warehouse full of unsold or unwanted stock.

PS - With this structure in mind, it is worth ordering with us while your desired item is in stock as while some items will be restocked, others won't!

Clothing Samples

When sourcing new styles or from new suppliers, we often order samples first. We'll thoroughly review the quality and test the wear and tear before we decide whether it's something we think you, our customers, will love. We also use these samples for our photoshoots. As such, we end up with lots of clothing samples (some brand new, some worn) that are perfectly fine but not something we're happy to sell at full price. So that we avoid these samples ending up in landfill, we regularly sell these at a discounted rate in our Sample Sale. This is another waste-minimising practice.
